The Making of the Cosmo TV Spot

WHAT: A&R was brought in to work with RBL Agency and Sugino studios to create the new Cosmo TV ad.  The concept was to have a climber ascend a women's hand.

HOW WE DID IT: With the help of pro-climber/guide/rigger Cort Mclroy, we worked out a "route" on a large green-painted tower that would eventually be the super-imposed hand.  We used a fairly simple "top roping" system with a green (how convenient) Petzl 8.5 rope with a master anchor rigged to the rafters in the sound stage.  We spent most of the morning figuring out route, movement, and pacing and by the afternoon we were ready to work out concepts.  The BTS footage above shows a moment where Dale lets go of the "pinkie" and swings sideways into the air.  That was an early concept didn't make it to the final cut.
